On August 27, Yan Hanping, Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, met in Yancheng with Jens Martin Alsbirk, Consul General of Denmark in Shanghai, and his delegation.

Yan Hanping welcomed Jens Martin Alsbirk and his delegation to Yancheng and gave a brief overview of the city’s economic and social development. Yan said that Yancheng is currently focusing on its positioning as an “International Wetland City, Green Coastal City and Jianghuai Gateway”, while vigorously developing its distinctive industries, including agriculture, new energy and automobiles, and continuously expanding international cooperation and exchanges. Denmark has advanced technologies and extensive experience in such fields as animal husbandry and new energy, offering broad prospects for cooperation with Yancheng. He expressed hope that, building on the existing foundation of cooperation, the two sides would further strengthen exchanges and interactions, encourage more Danish companies to visit, learn about and invest in Yancheng, and deepen practical cooperation in areas including modern agriculture, green energy, and disaster prevention and mitigation, so as to achieve mutual benefit, win-win outcomes and common development.

Jens Martin Alsbirk said that Denmark attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with China in areas such as green transition, and that Yancheng’s development, particularly in the new energy sector, had made a strong impression. The Consulate General of Denmark in Shanghai is willing to play an active role as a bridge and facilitator, promoting closer exchanges and cooperation between Danish companies and Yancheng in areas including the wind power industry, modern agriculture and technological innovation, and helping deliver more concrete outcomes from bilateral cooperation.

During his stay in Yancheng, Jens Martin Alsbirk and his delegation visited one industrial park and an enterprise.
