On the morning of September 15, the 2026 Jiangsu Provincial Offshore Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Skills Competition (a provincial-level leading Level-1 employee vocational skills competition), co-hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and Jiangsu Guoxin Group Co., Ltd., opened at Goldwind’s Lingang plant in Dafeng, Yancheng.

Yancheng is known as “China’s No. 1 City for Offshore Wind Power”. With a long coastline of 582 kilometers, it enjoys exceptional wind power resource endowments. At present, the city’s installed offshore wind power capacity accounts for about 7% of the global total and one-eighth of the national total. It has built a complete industrial chain system covering R&D and design, equipment manufacturing, project development, and operation and maintenance services. New energy has become a core growth driver for the city’s high-quality development. The provincial competition being held in Dafeng, Yancheng, is both full recognition of Yancheng’s achievements in offshore wind power industry development and a strong impetus for building its skilled talent team.

This competition is an important measure to implement the requirements of the provincial notice on the “Make Contributions in the 15th Five-Year Plan and Embark on a New Journey” leading employee vocational skills competition. Oriented toward real-world scenarios, the event focuses on strengthening comprehensive assessment of wind power O&M personnel’s practical operation capabilities, emergency response capabilities, and adaptability to offshore operations. Through promoting learning, training, and talent cultivation by competition, it aims to further advance industrial skills improvement and talent team building and inject new vitality into the development of Jiangsu’s new energy sector.
