On September 14, Wu Wei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor, led a delegation to Dalian to hold the Yancheng (Dalian) Marine Economy Investment Environment Promotion Conference. The event was aimed at thoroughly studying and implementing President Xi Jinping’s important instructions on building a maritime power, comprehensively promoting Yancheng’s investment environment for the marine economy, intensifying efforts to attract marine industrial projects, and pooling momentum and strengths to build a “blue sector” for high-quality development.
Marine enterprises and marine talent are key forces in the development of the marine industry. Wu first visited Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group and expressed admiration for its outstanding contributions to building a maritime power. He hoped the group would leverage its leading advantages and, in light of Yancheng’s industrial foundation, cooperate with Yancheng in shipbuilding and supporting industries and other areas to achieve win-win results. Dalian Haifa Culture and Tourism Industry Co., Ltd. has been deeply engaged in marine industries for many years. Wu thanked the company for its trust in and support for Yancheng and looked forward to the two sides leveraging their respective strengths and empowering each other in manufacturing, marine cultural tourism, marine agriculture and other fields. At Dalian Huarui Heavy Industry Group, Wu learned in detail about the R&D and manufacturing of heavy machinery equipment. He thanked the company for its deep commitment to Yancheng and asked relevant sectors and departments to continue providing service support, actively align with the company’s industrial layout, create a better environment for its development in Yancheng, and achieve deeper cooperation in broader fields.
To seek more “city development partners”, Yancheng held the Yancheng (Dalian) Marine Economy Investment Environment Promotion Conference on the afternoon of September 14. Wu attended and addressed the event. Nearly 100 representatives from offices of multinational corporations in Dalian, key local marine-related enterprises, industry associations, universities and research institutions attended. A number of major marine industry projects were successfully signed, covering key areas such as shipbuilding equipment, new energy, biological products and smart ocean. These projects will inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of Yancheng’s marine economy.
