On the afternoon of September 12, Yan Hanping, Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, met with Roh Jae-heon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to China, and the delegation he led on a visit to Yancheng.

Yan welcomed Roh on his return to Yancheng after more than three months and briefed him on the new progress and achievements in Yancheng’s cooperation with the ROK. He said that since the beginning of this year, Yancheng’s import and export trade with the ROK had grown substantially, the number of Korean tourists visiting Yancheng had continued to rise, and ROK-invested enterprises in Yancheng had maintained sound development. At the just-concluded 2026 Experience Jiangsu for Multinational Companies: Conference on International Exchange of Yancheng Zero-Carbon Industrial Parks, another batch of ROK-funded projects were successfully signed, laying a solid foundation for deeper cooperation between the two sides. We are ready to work with Mr. Ambassador and all our friends, old and new, to further enhance practical cooperation in industrial synergy, trade and investment, and culture, commerce, sports and tourism, help more high-quality projects be implemented and produce results, and jointly open up new prospects for mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.

Roh expressed appreciation for Yancheng’s achievements in economic and social development. He said that the ROK and China are important neighbors and cooperative partners, and that the China-ROK (Yancheng) Industrial Park is an important platform for bilateral cooperation. More than 800 ROK-invested enterprises have invested and established operations in Yancheng, and economic and trade exchanges and people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two sides have become increasingly close. The ROK Embassy in China will continue to serve as a bridge and link, promote deeper understanding of Yancheng among various sectors in the ROK, encourage more ROK enterprises to invest and do business in Yancheng, advance cooperation on industrial projects and youth cultural and sports exchanges, and take cooperation between Yancheng and the ROK to new heights.

Also attending the meeting were representatives of ROK embassy and consulate-general in China, economic and trade institutions, and enterprises, Jin Shangjun, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, and municipal leaders Tang Jing and Zhang Naiwen.
