On July 8th, the 2026 Jiangsu Provincial Study and Exchange Event on Revitalizing Traditional Industries was held in Yancheng. Cai Jianfeng, Secretary and Director-General of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Shi Xiaopeng, Deputy Director-General of the Department, and Qi Congfeng, Vice Mayor of Yancheng Municipal People’s Government, attended the event.

Cai Jianfeng pointed out that we must thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions, fully grasp the strategic positioning of the renewal and upgrading of traditional industries, and support enterprises to systematically study and summarize pathways for industrial renewal and upgrading in nine dimensions: cost reduction, process optimization, quality improvement, product diversification, innovation enhancement, brand building, marketing capacity building, service expansion, and fulfillment of social responsibilities. Relevant departments shall continuously refine the policy system, provide enterprises with all-round support covering capital, technology, talent and other resources, and lay a solid foundation for advancing the development of a manufacturing province at a high level. Qi Congfeng briefed participants on the progress of the renewal of traditional industries in Yancheng. He pledged to resolutely implement the deployment and requirements of the central and provincial authorities, take the development of a modern industrial system as the overarching goal, focus on high-end, intelligent, green and integrated development, earnestly advance four key tasks of consolidating strengths, reinforcing weaknesses, expanding scale and fostering new drivers, and make every effort to boost quality and efficiency of traditional industries.
