On May 7, the 12th Plenary Session of the 8th Committee of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee was successfully convened. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the plenary session earnestly implemented the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches on the work of Jiangsu, followed the deployment requirements of the 11th Plenary Session of the 14th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, mobilized people across the city to stay true to the entrustment, forge ahead with gratitude, take the initiative to study new circumstances and solve new problems, strive for a sound start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and make greater contributions to Jiangsu’s endeavor to shoulder key responsibilities for national development.

The plenary session was presided over by the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee. Zhou Bin, Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, delivered a speech at the session. The plenary session deliberated and adopted the Decision of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee on Deeply Studying and Implementing the Guiding Principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Speeches and Taking the Initiative to Study New Circumstances and Solve New Problems. In his speech, Zhou Bin explained the Draft Decision (for deliberation).

The plenary session emphasized that all Party members and officials in the city must effectively enhance their initiative and sense of responsibility in studying new circumstances and solving new problems, gain insight into the overall trend and analyze changes, accurately grasp new shifts in the development environment, and continuously broaden their vision and mindset. Efforts should be made to study new problems in conjunction with old ones, plan for both common problems and specific problems in a coordinated way, and advance both temporary solutions and fundamental cures in a synergistic manner. We must focus on and solidly advance the current work, take targeted measures to expand the growth space of domestic demand, seize opportunities arising from industrial transformation in light of trends, respond to the expectations of the people with sincerity and dedication, get well prepared in advance to address various risks and challenges, and strive to create a new look for the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. We must temper our professional capabilities and work conduct, pursue tangible results and achievements through “solid work”, secure a good start and new breakthroughs through “capacity enhancement”, foster a new atmosphere of integrity and uprightness through “strict governance”, and strive to demonstrate new acts of the cadre contingent.
