On March 6, the Jiangsu delegation to the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress held plenary and group meetings to earnestly study the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech when he joined the Jiangsu delegation’s deliberations, deliberate on the Government Work Report, and review the draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan. NPC deputies from our city, namely Zhou Bin, Yan Hanping, Zhang Naiwen, Dai Yong, Liu Huaiping, Chen Cheng, Lu Man, Chen Hongbin, and Shao Yonghai, attended the meetings.

Deputy Zhou Bin delivered a deliberative speech at the group meeting. He stated that Yancheng will resolutely align its thinking and actions with the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, follow the arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the requirements of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, firmly establish and practice a correct view of political achievements. In terms of urban positioning, Yancheng sees itself as an International Wetland City, Green Coastal Hub, and Gateway to Yangtze and Huaihe Rivers. Strategically, it will unswervingly enhance strength through marine development, advance prosperity via green growth, and transform toward innovation, making new and greater contributions to striving to write a new chapter in the modernization of a new Jiangsu characterized by economic strength, prosperity for the people, environmental beauty, and high social civility.

Deputy Yan Hanping in his deliberative speech stated that we will resolutely implement the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speeches, and act in accordance with the arrangements set forth in the Government Work Report. We will pursue multiple measures simultaneously to boost consumption and expand investment, achieving new progress in integrating into the unified national market; we will deepen the integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial transformation, making new breakthroughs in fostering and strengthening growth drivers; we will drive development through both deepening reform and opening-up, expanding new space for enhancing development vitality; we will empower development through both regional coordination and rural revitalization, taking new steps in integrated urban-rural development; we will work in the same direction to improve people’s livelihoods and ensure safe development, demonstrating new achievements in safeguarding social harmony and stability. We will ensure the fulfillment of all this year’s goals and tasks, and secure a sound start to the 15th Five-Year Plan.
