During the National Day holiday, a wide range of cultural and tourism activities across Yancheng attracted visitors and boosted consumer spending. The influx of visitors translated into tangible economic benefits, showcasing the vibrant momentum of the city’s efforts to integrate culture and tourism while offering residents and tourists an enjoyable holiday experience.
Amid the festive atmosphere, the Yandu District Museum organized a family activity themed “Celebrate National Day with Gold Foil Art: Salt Sculpture and Wetland Milu Deer.” At the event, children gathered around tables as instructors introduced them to the ecology of milu deer in wetland habitats, then guided them step by step in shaping salt sculptures and decorating them with gold foil. During the holiday, Xiangshui County organized a themed educational excursion titled “Following the Tides of Ancient Passes: An Educational Journey Through Coastal Landscapes and Cultural Heritage.” Children took part in intangible cultural heritage workshops to experience the art of Cloisonné enamel; ventured into natural outdoor settings to explore hidden waterways; and joined a fun sports competition on the tidal flats. These activities allowed them to appreciate the ecological beauty of the coastal wetlands while broadening their horizons, building physical fitness and cultivating their appreciation of beauty through hands-on learning. The Autumn Music Festival at Jiulongkou National Wetland Park in Jianhu County also took place as scheduled during the National Day holiday. The four concerts attracted nearly 20,000 visits in total, with daily attendance peaking at 4,800. Revenue streams from ticket sales, on-site markets and related consumer spending all contributed to a total of RMB 3.8612 million in direct revenue.
