On January 20, Zhou Bin, Party Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee and Mayor Yan Hanping met with a delegation led by Lee Young-wook, CEO of South Korea’s SK On Co., Ltd.
Zhou Bin and Yan Hanping warmly welcomed Lee Young-wook and his team to Yancheng and expressed gratitude for SK On’s continued support for the city’s development.
Zhou Bin noted that Yancheng is currently following the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and implementing the directives of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee. The city remains firmly committed to “pursuing marine development, advancing green growth, and transforming through innovation,” while steadily advancing Chinese modernization in Yancheng.
He highlighted that Yancheng serves as an important hub for China’s opening-up to South Korea and is one of the cities in the Yangtze River Delta region with the highest concentration of Korean-invested enterprises. SK On, as a global leader in the research, development, production and manufacturing of power batteries, enjoys a solid foundation for cooperation with Yancheng.
Zhou expressed hope that SK On would leverage Yancheng’s unique advantages and the strong momentum of its local base to further clarify the strategic positioning of the Yancheng facility, concentrate high-quality resources, bring in additional capacity, accelerate pilot testing and industrialization of new products, and jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries.
He assured that Yancheng will provide even higher-quality services and do its utmost to support the better and faster development of SK On’s Yancheng base.
Lee Young-wook thanked Yancheng for its strong support for SK On’s growth. He said the city offers an excellent business environment and is developing at a rapid pace. SK On will fully leverage its own strengths, build on the solid foundation already established in Yancheng, continue to deepen practical cooperation, cultivate more new growth drivers, and achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development.
