It is emphasized that efforts should be made to improve the quality and efficiency of marine economy development through high-standard and pragmatic actions, and strive to forge a path of “striving for prosperity via marine economy” featuring strengthening the city by relying on the sea, enriching the people by virtue of the sea, achieving harmony between humans and the sea, and pursuing win-win results through opening-up. It is imperative to accelerate the construction of a national marine economic development demonstration zone, a national river-sea coordinated development demonstration zone, and an international wetland-featured modern marine city. Focusing on strengthening the sea through industries, we will thoroughly implement the cultivation project of the 3+3+X marine industrial system, upgrade traditional marine industries, cultivate and strengthen emerging marine industries, and make forward-looking arrangements for future marine industries, so as to make new progress in building a modern marine industrial system. Focusing on invigorating the sea through science and technology, we will promote the substantial improvement of innovation capacity, the efficiency enhancement of platforms, and the improvement of ecological conservation, drive the integrated transformation of technological innovation forces and industrial resources, and achieve new breakthroughs in fostering new-quality productive forces in the marine sector. Focusing on integrating into the sea through opening-up, we will enhance the core competitiveness of ports, the supporting capacity of industrial parks, and the radiation power of opening-up and cooperation, so as to create a new pattern in coordinating the integrated development of land and sea. Focusing on protecting the sea through ecological conservation, we will strengthen marine ecological protection, publicize the marine cultural brand, and firmly hold the bottom line of maritime production safety, so as to demonstrate new achievements in promoting the harmonious coexistence of human and the sea.
Experts from universities and research institutes including Nanjing Normal University, Ocean University of China, and South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the conference to provide guidance.
