On December 3rd, Zhou Bin, Party Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, met with the delegation led by Kim Eui-gyeom, administrator of the Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency. The two sides exchanged views on deepening industrial cooperation and promoting green development.
On behalf of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee and the Yancheng Municipal Government, Zhou Bin extended a warm welcome to Kim Eui-gyeom and his delegation, and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Yancheng. He noted that cooperation with South Korea is a distinctive feature of Yancheng’s opening-up. At present, nearly 1,000 Korean-invested enterprises have gathered in the city, and Yancheng has established friendly city relations with more than 10 cities in South Korea. Both Yancheng and Saemangeum are important components of the China-South Korea “Four Parks in Two Countries” cooperation mechanism, and their industrial development directions are highly aligned. He expressed the hope that the two sides will jointly implement the important consensus reached by the heads of the two countries, further deepen exchange, strengthen cooperation, gather more high-quality resources, achieve more fruitful cooperation results, and work together to open up a new prospect for green and low-carbon development.
Kim Eui-gyeom stated that he was deeply impressed by Yancheng’s urban landscape, development environment and green industries. In particular, the Korean signs on the street nameplates made Korean friends feel very cordial. The Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency attaches great importance to its cooperative relationship with Yancheng. It will actively learn from Yancheng’s development experience, further expand and enhance cooperation, and strive to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
