On December 16, Zhou Bin, Party Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, met with François Balumuene, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to China, and his delegation in Yancheng. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on further leveraging their respective advantages and expanding cooperation space.

On behalf of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, Zhou Bin extended a warm welcome to François Balumuene and his delegation and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Yancheng. He noted that Yancheng is currently thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and earnestly implementing the arrangements of the 10th Plenary Session of the 14th Provincial Party Committee. The city is formulating scientific plans for economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and striving to build a modern industrial system featuring green energy, modern agriculture and other sectors. He added that the DRC is a traditional friendly country and a comprehensive strategic cooperative partner of China, boasting a vast territory and abundant resources. He expressed the hope that the two sides will jointly implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, strengthen practical cooperation in energy, agriculture and other fields, tap cooperation potential, expand cooperation space, and contribute to deepening the China-DRC comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

François Balumuene stated that Yancheng has achieved remarkable results in the development of the new energy industry and agricultural modernization, laying a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation with the DRC. He expressed the wish that on the basis of mutual respect and win-win results, the two sides will combine their respective advantages in resources, technology and markets, expand cooperation areas, deepen the connotation of cooperation, inject new vitality into the sustainable development of DRC-China cooperation, and jointly build and share a prosperous and bright future.
