On the afternoon of December 15, the Provincial Government held an economic operation coordination meeting. The meeting aimed to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and the Central Economic Work Conference, earnestly implement the requirements put forward in Premier Li Qiang’s speeches, and study and arrange the current key tasks in accordance with the arrangements of the 10th Plenary Session of the 14th Provincial Party Committee and the meetings of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee. It emphasized resolutely completing the annual goals and tasks to ensure the successful conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Liu Xiaotao, Governor of the province, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

Liu Xiaotao emphasized the importance of aligning thoughts and actions with the scientific judgment on the economic situation and the decision-making arrangements made by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Party Central Committee. He called for firmly grasping the regular understanding embodied in the “Five Musts”, adhering to the principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability and pursuing quality improvement and efficiency enhancement. He also urged to strengthen confidence, give full play to advantages to address challenges, strive to stabilize employment, enterprises, markets and expectations, and effectively make up for weaknesses, consolidate the foundation, enhance weak links and promote strengths. He stressed the need to continuously consolidate and expand the positive momentum of steady economic growth, and contribute more to the overall national development through tangible results in high-quality development.

The meeting was held in the form of a video conference, with a branch venue set up in Yancheng for on-site viewing and listening. Yan Hanping, Mayor of Yancheng, attended the meeting at the municipal branch venue and delivered an exchange speech.
