To strictly protect urban green space resources, improve the ecological environment of the city seats, and enhance the quality of life for citizens, our city recently released the first batch of permanent urban green spaces list. Eleven green spaces, including People’s Park, are on the list, with a total area of 1.0682 million square meters.

The 11 selected green spaces, such as People’s Park, Yandu Park, Hexiang Park, and Yingbin Park, were chosen by the municipal bureau of natural resources and planning as well as the municipal bureau of housing and urban-rural development. The selection was based on the urban territorial spatial plan and urban green line plan, following the principles of balancing protection and development, and announcing and protecting green spaces in batches as they become mature. Among them, there are 3 comprehensive parks, 3 thematic parks, and 5 garden plots, which serve as important “green lungs” of the central urban area and key carriers highlighting the city’s characteristics.

In addition, the Yancheng Municipal Administrative Measures for Permanent Green Spaces was officially implemented on March 1 this year. Aimed at further strengthening the classified management and precise protection of the urban green space system, it plays an important role in protecting the urban ecological environment, improving the quality of urban functions, and promoting the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
