From April 16 to 18, John Busuttil, Ambassador of Malta to China, led the delegation of Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology visited Yancheng. On the afternoon of April 16, Mayor Zhang Mingkang met with the delegation and John Busuttil and Stephen Vella, deputy Principal Business Development and Communications of the college, attended.

Zhang Mingkang extended welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced Yanchengs economic and social developments. He said that Yancheng was an essential part of Jiangsus coastal development with vast land, distinctive location, good ecology and complete industries, enjoying its fast development. While Malta is located in the central of the Mediterranean and China has nurtured close friendship with Malta. Yancheng has been prioritizing education and culture based on the solid foundation and favorable environment. This education center in Jiangsu Vocational College of Medicine set by Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology is a breakthrough in our citys educational development. He hoped through this opportunity people-to-people exchanges could be enhanced, with more active promotion of Yanchengs advantages, more win-win results in broader fields in a new chapter via joint efforts.

John Busuttil responded that he was impressed by Yanchengs ecology and energy. Malta has solid foundation and broad prospects in medical and health and talents cultivation with Jiangsu and Yancheng.
