The popularity of the high-quality period-themed micro drama Love in the Time of YANWU’s Rise, produced in Yancheng, continues to grow. Recently, the number of reservations for the series on the Hongguo Short Drama Platform reached a new milestone, officially surpassing 1.5 million, demonstrating strong audience interest and high expectations for this realistic drama production.

As China’s first realist micro drama focusing on the development history of the iconic national brand Yanwu, Love in the Time of Yanwu’s Rise has been selected as a Key Online Audio-Visual Project of Jiangsu Province for 2026 and has also been included in the National Radio and Television Administration’s key micro-drama development plan. Set against the backdrop of industrial transformation and economic reform in Jiangsu during the early years of China’s Reform and Opening-up period, the story follows the lives of Xu Zhuohua, a young woman returning from overseas studies, and Lu Huaiyuan, a reform-minded deputy factory director and pioneer of industrial modernization. Through their experiences, the drama vividly recreates Yanwu’s entrepreneurial journey—from overcoming technological challenges and expanding into new markets to achieving brand success.
