On November 24, Zhou Bin, Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, met with a delegation led by Mr. Saleh Habti, Global Executive Vice President and Chairman of China Region of Saudi Arabia’s International Power and Water Company (ACWA Power).
On behalf of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee and Yancheng Municipal Government, Zhou Bin extended a warm welcome to Mr. Saleh Habti and his delegation, and congratulated ACWA Power on signing cooperation projects with Yancheng. He stated that Yancheng is thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on Jiangsu’s undertakings. The city is formulating sound development plans for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, continuously expanding high-level opening up, and accelerating the development of new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions.
ACWA Power is a global leader in the energy sector, and Yancheng possesses unique advantages and a solid foundation in developing the new energy industry; the prospects for cooperation between the two sides are broad. He expressed hope that ACWA Power will work together with Yancheng to promote project construction with high quality and efficiency, fully leverage their respective strengths, further expand the scope of cooperation, and jointly advance green, low-carbon, high-quality development. Yancheng will create a most favorable market-oriented and law-based business environment that are up to international standards, providing comprehensive, full-life-cycle services and support for enterprises investing and taking root in the city.
Mr. Saleh Habti introduced his company’s development and investment plans. He noted that in recent years, China and Saudi Arabia have actively aligned Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 with the Belt and Road Initiative, yielding fruitful cooperation results and unlimited opportunities. Yancheng has strong development momentum and clear advantages in the new energy industry, with very promising urban prospects. ACWA Power will spare no effort to accelerate project construction and, taking this signing as a landmark starting point, focus on more green and low-carbon fields, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Yancheng, elevate the level of collaboration, and jointly build a new model for Saudi–Chinese industrial cooperation.
