On the afternoon of August 27, the conference on city renewal and historical and cultural protection was held, implementing the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi’s instruction on city development and strengthening the protection, preservation and utilization of cultural heritage. With a systematic plan, Yancheng bolsters the building of a livable, green, resilient, smart and cultural city, making contributions to Yancheng’s practices of Chinese modernization. Party Secretary Zhou Bin attended and addressed. Wang Xuefeng, Director-general of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, was invited to give a lecture. Mayor Zhang Mingkang presided over the conference.

Zhou Bin stressed that city renewal and historical and cultural protection are inseparable as the city is the important carrier of modernization and the culture is the soul of the city. With an overall and long-time view, all the departments should enhance the sense of mission and responsibility and confidence, using the city renewal to expand demand, stabilize growth and improve people’s livelihood then driving Yancheng’s high-quality sustainable development.
