On July 17, the China-South Korea (Yancheng) Business Cooperation Exchange Meeting was held. Before the meeting, Zhou Bin, party secretary of the Municipal Committee of the CPC, met with the guests. Zhang Mingkang, the deputy secretary of the municipal committee and the mayor, Kim Byung-kwan, the chairman of Korea Imports Association, Kim Young-jun, the Consul General of South Korea in Shanghai, and Zhou Xiaoyang, the deputy director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony.

During the meeting, Zhou Bin welcomed Kim Byung-kwan and his delegation and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Yancheng. He said that he expected both sides to give full play to their respective strengths and advantages, deepen exchanges in the entire industrial chain, the entire city, and all aspects, actively expand investment and trade cooperation, and jointly create a bright future of win-win cooperation.

In his speech, Zhang Mingkang welcomed the arrival of the guests. He said that we are willing to work hand in hand with South Korea, take friendly cities and chambers of commerce as the ties, actively explore new paths for exchanges and cooperation, seek new breakthroughs in industrial cooperation, share new opportunities for green development, and build a new pattern of comprehensive exchanges, so that more Korean enterprises can come to Yancheng and more Yancheng products can be exported across the ocean, constantly opening up new space for mutual benefit and win-win results.

Kim Byung-kwan said that the Korea Imports Association will give full play to its role as a bridge and link, strive to further promote cooperation between China and South Korea, and encourage more Korean entrepreneurs to invest and start businesses in Yancheng to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results in the process of joint development.

Kim Young-jun said that he hoped that through this event, the exchanges and cooperation between the Korea Imports Association and Yancheng would be further deepened, and enterprises of the two countries would further join hands for cooperation, seeking common development and mutual benefit.

Zhou Xiaoyang said in his speech that the Provincial Department of Commerce will continue to create a market-oriented, internationalized and law-based business environment, do a good job in economic and trade cooperation with South Korea, and create more opportunities and provide a broader stage for promoting economic and trade cooperation with South Korea.

On the same day, the Korea Imports Association signed a strategic cooperation agreement with our city; South Korean enterprises had one-on-one trade negotiations with relevant enterprises in Jiangsu.

During their stay in Yancheng, the participants will also visit the Planning Exhibition Hall of China-South Korea (Yancheng) Industrial Park, Yueda Kia, Yancheng Comprehensive Bonded Zone and other sites.
