On July 16, in the test field of China Automotive Technology and Research Center Automotive Proving Ground Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CATARC), the complex scenarios of intelligent connected vehicles and flying vehicles were successfully tested, marking the official operation of the Yangtze River Delta (Yancheng) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Test Field - the first large-scale comprehensive closed intelligent connected vehicle test field in China.

The intelligent connected vehicle test field is a major provincial project with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, covering an area of about 2.67 km². It has 8 test roads dedicated to intelligent connected vehicles, a 32,000-square-meter laboratory, and is equipped with the first domestic oil-electric-hydrogen-methanol four-in-one comprehensive energy center. It covers all test scenarios and requirements for intelligent connected vehicles and autonomous driving capabilities, meets all test capabilities of heavy commercial vehicles, and takes into account the test capabilities of flying vehicles and low-altitude aircraft.

An Tiecheng, the president of CATARC, said that the intelligent connected vehicle test field will be operated together with the existing comprehensive automotive test field, exert the synergy effect of 1 + 1 > 2, help the landing of the China solution of the integrated vehicle-road-cloud-network-map of intelligent connected vehicles, promote the coordinated development of the new energy vehicle and core component industries in the Yangtze River Delta region, and strongly support the high-quality development of the Chinese automotive industry.
