Anfeng Town was named the first historic and cultural town in northern Jiangsu in June 2007. The Anfeng Seven-Mile, in its past, had nine dikes, thirteen lanes, seventy-two temples, and thousands of shops. The Anfeng Ancient Street is the well-preserved section of the Anfeng Seven-Mile, with a total length of 500 metres, and has become preserved relics in Yancheng. In side the street, there are Bao’s Mansion, Wu’s Clan Hall, and Yuan Chengye’s house, etc.

To carry forward and inherit the salt culture, and to restore the ancient salt production site, the salt offices, ancient theatre stage, salt shipment quai, Zheng Banqiao’s Residence are rebuilt, and a series of activities, including the stories of Anfeng Ancient Town, folklore performance, homesickness culture, etc. are underway, developing and expanding the salt culture. As a national 4A tourist site in China, it attracted 400,000 tourists in 2015.
