On the morning of October 29, the 5th Inter-Provincial Joint Conference of the Huai River Ecological Economic Belt was held in Yancheng to summarize and exchange experiences in collaborative development along the Huai River, plan a new round of key inter-provincial cooperation, and promote high-quality development of the Huai River Ecological Economic Belt. The meeting was chaired by Ma Xin, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor. Attendees included Fei Gaoyun, Executive Vice Governor of Anhui Province, Sun Shougang, Executive Vice Governor of Henan Province, Wen Nuan, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, Peng Yong, Vice Governor of Hubei Province, Han Zhenhai, Deputy Director of the Regional Coordination Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, Cheng Xushui, Deputy Director of the Huai River Ecological Environment Supervision and Management Bureau of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Wu Guqin, Deputy Director of the Huai River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, and Zhang Mingkang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee and Mayor of Yancheng Municipal Government.

It is pointed out in the meeting that with the strong support of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the joint efforts of the five provinces and 29 cities (counties), the inter-provincial joint conference system has played an active role. By focusing on key inter-provincial cooperation matters, improving the promotion mechanism, strengthening inter-provincial connection, cooperating and working closely, and showcasing their strengths, the development momentum of the Huai River Ecological Economic Belt has been continuously enhanced, and the results of cooperation have become more significant.

At the conference, leaders from the five provinces delivered speeches on implementing the “new mechanism for cross-city cooperation development” proposed at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party, deeply integrating and serving the national regional major strategies and regional coordinated development strategies, reviewed the Key Inter-Provincial Cooperation Matters for the Huai River Ecological Economic Belt for 2024-2025, and signed the Framework Agreement on Further Coordinating and Promoting High-Quality Development of the Huai River Ecological Economic Belt.
