Since its establishment, Yancheng Port Group has actively integrated into the Belt and Road Initiative, actively seized the strategic opportunities, constantly expanded the space and fields of opening up, created a global trade logistics channel, deeply integrated into the open pattern, created a high-level "meticulous painting" of opening up, and painted a new picture of the port opening up to the world.

From the perspective of geographic advantage, Yancheng is located at the strategic intersection of the eastward expansion of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the northward expansion of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road". The Belt and Road Initiative, the national coastal development strategy, and the Yangtze River Delta integration development strategy have all brought new development opportunities to Yancheng Port. In the past three years, Yancheng Port Group has opened a total of 35 new international and domestic routes, forming a pattern of 40 routes to the outside world, which is nearly 7 times higher than that of 2020. This includes 4 car Ro/Ro routes to Mexico, South Africa, and other countries, 1 general cargo liner to Peru of South America, and 35 container liner routes, including 4 offshore routes to Southeast Asia (Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam), South Korea (Incheon, Busan), and Japan (Mensi, Bodo, Osaka, Kobe), continuously expanding the 'circle of friends'.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the China Europe (Asia) successor train in Yancheng officially opened on June 16. The service of co construction of the Belt and Road has changed from concept to action, from vision to reality, and Yancheng has fully integrated into the new development pattern of the Belt and Road Initiative.
